NYC safe storage in Brooklyn & Manhattan

NYC safe storage in Brooklyn & Manhattan

Hey guys - I have two storage locations that I would like to extend to RED users and RED users alone. One is downtown - 24 hour access - right near wall street with 24 hour access and a doorman that is overly suspicious, and another is two blocks from Steiner Studios in a building that is, quite frankly, a bitch to break in to - it took me an hour on New Years eve with a locksmith and mega power tools to finally get back into my space after the lock broke (Israeli high security lock) - after trying in vain with a big friend of mine to kick the door in (he was a Navy Seal, I was a Navy diver and a soccer player and Thai boxer - the freaking door didn't budge :) - anyway point is: building very secure.

If you need a place to stash a SMALL amount of production gear that you just don't trust in your hotel, car, crackhead friends house, or even in a cube truck (which most of the CC rentals trucks are already mostly falling apart anyway and can be torn apart with a box cutter and some determination - you need something to cut through the gaffers tape holding them together...) then email me and we can set you up. RED folks only please.

I have local references and I ain't going ANYWHERE (hell I moved here weeks after the 911 attacks - if that won't make you leave, nothing will)

Oh, and I work with NYPD on a regular basis (we produce this show with them: http://www.nyc.gov/html/nypd/html/pr/videos.shtml - (fair warning crooks of the world: if you have recently stolen a camera, I'm probably not the guy to stick your stuff with...)

I'll provide parking, a small workshop, desk and mac Pro with Final Cut Studio and all the RED plugins for dailies (and if you ask nice, I can bring the AJA IO HD in)

- again, right near Steiner. And if you're an out of town - er a bed or couch and coffee. I'm going to start my own RED DP B&B in BK!

Or - you can get a bonded warehouse. :(

Sorry to hear about your loss

I just saw this product today and immediately thought about the recent spate of Red thefts - this has probably been brought up before but anyone who's particularly paranoid about getting their camera stolen might consider something like this concealed in their camera case (maybe cut into the underside of the foam or something?):

http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/09/xact-trax-personal-tracking-device-requires-no-monthly-subscri/

Basically it's a subscription-free GPS tracker and it's at CES right now if anyone's down there (no idea of price but like that advert says "cost of finding who stole your Red camera and getting them inside a locked, soundproof room with just a blow-torch & some tweezers...priceless".)

p.s. obviously removing the camera from its case scuppers this plan but whoever steals a Red is going to need a case for it, so from their point of view why not steal the case as well (also it probably looks a bit more subtle walking off set with a case in your hand rather than an expensive camera?)
