  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The unthinkable has just happened. Mark's chalet was broken into while they were sleeping and EPIC 0006 was stolen along with cash. Mark is at the Police Station right now in Meribel, France.

The family is safe and no one was hurt.

This is a tight community. We need your help. Keep your eyes and ears open for any news, tips or details about an EPIC floating around. An EPIC is a hard thing to circulate since there is only one in the world.

Please contact anyone at RED if you hear of anything.

Of course Mark is heartbroken. So are we.

Probably a sort of mafia was tracking Mark's movement in Alps.

As I said before to much transparency is not working any more in our business...

That's a reason I don't like a sort of networks like a Twitter or Facebook so much...

sometimes can harm your privacy and safety...

and stolen Mark's Epic-M just showed us that...
 
bad news. i know how i feel. i can't imagine it for you guys or mark.

good news. like you said, there is no possible way anyone could do anything with it. it has to turn up...

best news. no one seems to be injured. hopefully double-o six will remain in good shape.
 
I doubt these French perps know what they stole. They will probably try to sell it thinking it is a normal camera. Hope you guys find it, this a very bad news for the Red community.

I am still in shock. There was a forced entry through the front door.

The thieves actually entered the master bedroom while my in-laws were sleeping, and standing a foot from their bed - empties wallet and purse. There were 6 children and 8 adults sleeping in the house.
 
I think sanjin is Right. when i read about mark's holidays. I thought this is too much info to share. That's why i don't like too much social networks... But this is just me. I hope you (with our help if necessary) find those bastard.

Hope everyone is safe and unharmed. Mark and team, if your reading, that's all all of us are worried about.
Red team, I'm sure you're on top of this but from experience: contact all local and regional pawn shops, camera shops, and check international Craigslists for all potential leads. As far as competitors, of course you have too far of a lead for anyone to copy/duplicate.

Bad people suck.
 
Mark, I'm so sorry this happened to you and your family. This must have been terrifying. Thankfully you and your family are safe and unharmed.

Most likely the thieves have no idea what they have, but the conspiracy theorist in me thinks this could be an act of corporate espionage. There are a lot of camera companies that would love to reverse engineer an Epic.
 
Mark, so sorry for your loss. Your loss, more of the sense of safety as much as the loss of your 1 of a kind gear.

But, your family and children are OK. Please take care and help them to feel safe. Having been thru a major loss recently, children can have either immediate and long term affects.

Again, sorry or your loss, but glad it was "Only" objects.... No matter how rare it was.
 
WTF. Maybe corporate espionage. I guess the question is, how many other breakins have occurred at that hotel over the last couple of years?

Take care of your family and try to enjoy New Year.

The cam is not very usefull for a whole lot of people but you.

Try to focus on a appy new year Mark, and the best for 2011!
 
This is terrible news, Mark I hope it's returned safely soon...

Someone should start making Pelican hard cases with built-in GPS Trackers...
