What do exactly aja or blackmagic ?
If i buy one of this i need a video card on Mac Pro ?
Aja or blackmagic is like a video card for Mac Pro ?
The most better is aja or blackmagic or i need both ?
How much ram i need on Mac Pro ?

Hello!

Both of those cards are for realtime output to either a SDI Monitor or a TapeDeck. if you don't work with either of those you don't necessarily NEED those cards. they basically do the same thing; Aja and Blackmagic are just two different brands / Makes of those output boards.

It is not a video card. You still need a video card.

AJA is better. They do the same thing, though.

You need minimum 2gb RAM and 4 RAM sticks. 2gb is lots for most things. So four 512mb RAM sticks is the minimum.

They are video cards for input/output of analog/digital video. Depending on model they usually handle SDI and HD-SDi signals. Uncompressed digital video (Serial Digital Interface). I use my Blackmagic for exporting programs from FCP (Final Cut Pro) to digibeta tape. I use MacPro, but there are windows drivers also for many models. Check the details of the cards, I have used both aja and blackmagic and thay are about the same. Just if you get a more expensive card it usually is better. I have 4 GB in my MacPro, but it's nearly 2 years old and I'm waiting for the new 16/32 core machines.

I think you're getting this wrongly.

RED --> import to computer with CF card reader --> (IF you want to monitor your footage, then...) AJA card --> monitor (analog/digital; SD/HD)
