We are now proud to introduce our new colleague The “Super-8″.

Designing a “hobby” multirotor drone, able to lift 4 kg payload (8.8 pounds) is piece of cake.
But! Designing a platform that lifts 4 kg heavy camera like the Red Epic without affect the flight characteristics negatively and the same time makes it possible to deliver a stable picture from the camera when it blows 15 knots. Is much more difficult!

Our Super-8 has a flight time of 10 minutes per charge.
Ease of use, Is also something that we have had in mind when we designed Super-8. 6 years of experience working with aerial film, we know what is required of the equipment. Everything must be simple! You should just be able to concentrate on the mission and not the technology. Just press the “button” and go!

World premiere, stage one “Aircam Super-8″ ready for pre order. Developed by Superstudio D&D for Red Epic/Scarlet.
Payload: 4 kg, 8.8 pounds
Flight time: 10 min
Aircam 3 axes gyro and mechanical stabilized, 360 gimbal rotation.

Are you interested in buying a Super-8, or do you whant us to perform any aerial shoots for you. Do not hesitate to contact us for a quote.

What sort of a price tag are we talking about here. This looks like avery sophisticated product but, do I understand it to be easy to fly??

Interested in price as well. It would be the first one in Malta. I see a good investment opportunity.

Can you confirm whether this is relatively easy to learn and use or whether you really do need to become a seriously committed RC 'copter pilot to operate it safely and effectively.

Thanks. Just trying to understand if this is a different beast than others.

The problem is not to fly it, it is to have nerves to control $ 50,000 with your fingertips. But the answer is that it is easy to fly, but you should have experience of flying RC helicopter or airplane.

Good to know. Thanks!

Flying an RC airplane and a helicopter are two completely different beasts. Do not attempt to fly a multi unless you can fly a helicopter.

looks nice but I feel better about flying a rig I built by hand, I know exactly what is going on with very nut, bolt, and screw. I fly my epic when the shot really has to be 5k ONLY. :)

Hey Nick, (so how many was that anyway?) Did you ever have the pleasure of putting a fully loaded gasser with all your gear into the concrete from 60 feet up from a servo failure? I did, then I built my multi....so far not a sinlgle equipment induced crash, and not a pilot failure....going on 3 years now....knock knock...:)

Ya know, I think every crash I had ....wait, no I take that back. I was going to say every crash I had was pilot error, but now I remember the slew of tail rotors letting go (I think that was like 3 450 sized helis-I always had a practice heli that I flew for stick time while I was working on my picture bird). I have a similar safety record since I switched to multis. I fly an x8 config, and I had a set up with a bad esc where I would periodically loose a motor, and it never really cared. A slight twitch and back to normal ;-)

I think I destroyed something in the range of 15+ helicopters over the years. And that does not count rebuilds. New airframes ;-) I only killed like 5 500+ size helis, most of them were small. 5 or so 450s, a whole mess of micros...to be fair, I started destroying them back when all the micros were from Century and sucked really bad, and were really expensive. If I had bought a decent CP heli when I first started out.......Yeah, I would have spent a lot more money. Sims are much better now, but really, you have to build them from the ground up to understand them inside and out ;-)

Here's to keeping both our records clean ;-)

Oh, BTW, the night Ferris wheel shot on your multi reel is one of the ballsiest shots I have ever seen. I can't even fathom maintaining orientation at night with all those other lights and shit at that altitude.

I speak from personal experience, if you can fly airplanes, you can easily learn how to fly multirotor without any crashes.

Haha thx nick...yea that shot was on a prayer..trust me....;)))
