Age of Conan, event stuff, does it work?

OK, here's something from a recent gig, the release of the currently hottest selling online game worldwide

But I cannot take all credit for this... (LOL)
(And BTW, this post is cleared with the client...)

So, question is:
How does RED handle rock'n roll shooting, including none/bad/unplanned/wrong light?

How much of an issue is the rolling shutter?

Is RED really a viable alternative to Sony Z1/Panasonic HVX 200 for these kind of insane gigs?

I'll let you be the judge...

I must warn you that some of the footage is not RED, but I guess you'll figure which.

Yeah. After reading all the rolling shutter threads, I put on my hard hat before sitting down at the editing station.
It's there, of course, but the issue isn't as big and notorious as I expected by any margin...

Not going into denial here, but still...

I understand it may be a problem in certain situations but for the use I'm giving the cam it doesn't bother me at all.

Haha, ive shot a bunch of stuff with the Funcom guys about Age of Conan aswell!

Was Erling Ellingson there? He was the senior QA manager from what I can remember. Had a terrific time visiting them, 1st time travelling to Norway. You live in a beautiful country
