  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

AFTERMARKET SUPPORT

I have the Longvalley top handle and it seems really sturdy yet light. I will know better tomorrow when I pick up my Red One. I also have a shoulder mount/battery solution which I will post once I know it isn't a giant FAIL.

+1 for the Long Valley 7 Jib...great unit!

Long Valley also has a Jib Stand (modified ultimate speaker stand) which would be a good budget option, and will leave your tripod sticks ready for swift transitions back to conventional tripod work.. just remove your head and camera, and safety the jib. nice solution

Is it the Form Factor of the Card or the Cards themselves. I reversed the SSD to Cf For the moment, but I really want to Go back to the SSD. I noticed that the SSD mount is very similar to a Regular 1.8 ssd card(non red shape) Its the housing that is Different.

No, aftermarket SSDs will not work with RED...only RED-branded SSDs.

Thought some might be interested, I have mounted my BT Red One one the Tilta shoulder mount with 15mm rails and a Zacuto plate for V-mount batteries. With the Tilta I can mount the camera on a Sony V-mount quick release tripod plate. I am going for a EFP type set up as much as possible. I have the Long Valley top handle mounted as well as a Small HD DP4 EVF. I am in the process of making a wooden hand grip similar to the Aaton style.
