This is a very strange thing which happens only in the newer versions of RCX (using latest 16.24124 and Mac Pro 3.1 - 8 cores/ 16 GB RAM)
All the clips I take are about 20--30 sec long. Before I click on a clip, trim, Color Correct and export to 1080p. One by one. The more clips are on queue in the Export Folder, the longer everything takes. Example when I click on a new clip, the spinning ball takes much longer. Even the Export function takes very long (spinning ball). When I reach about 20 clips in the Export Bin, I better stop, otherwise the spinning ball will not stop anymore.
When all clips are transcoded/exported and there are no more clips in the Export Bin, the behavior is the same (long spinning ball). By that time I need to reboot, then everything is back to normal.
It seems to me, something is filling up on data (like cache) and will only be reset when I shut down and reboot.
I remember, Premier has a setting like "clear cache".
Is there a way to do that in RCX without rebooting every time?

Additional: I posted this question in the Apple Forum, but did not bring any results.

i had the same problem on my mac nehalem and adobe media encoder. i was going crazy with this bug. finally i founded what caused the problem : when you draw all the power of your core the temp increase and when a ceetain limit is reached, the mac become so slow than you only can reboot it, then it works normally until you launche another hard power core task. poor shitty mac...
try to download fan sc control, then before a big render put all the fans at 100%. thar solved the problem for me

I downloaded a Fan control and installed it. It did not change anything. The time the beachball spins is the same.
I am sure, the problem is not heat related. It must have something to do with the cache.
Last night, I left the Mac on to transcode over night. The last clip already took a loong time for the beachball to stop spinning.
This morning (long time after the last clip was transcoded) I try to click on an other clip.... it took about same time as last night to finish spinning. Even other non-related to RCX software, the beachball weas spinning for long time. As soon as I force closed RCX, all operations were back to normal. (No delay in opening other folders), therefore the problem MUST be with RCX.

Extra RAM may do the trick. It helped me a lot. It's quite cheap these days. Macsales is a great resource for that.

I have 8x2 GB RAM.
The plates are full! I would need to remove the 2 GB RAM banks.
I am using the 3.1 Ver. Mac. Those RAM are still quite expensive.
So not really an option for me. (not even sure, if there are higher RAM available.
