Our post workflow was going to be RAW R3D in AE
but after some tests this morning and im getting discouraging results going RAW in After Effects natively with the R3D.
RedCine
&
RedAlert
shooting 3200K is acceptable and fine
shooting with an 80D filter improves the noise but we can live with the 3200K
on RC and RA

But when looking at the files in AE
the 3200K looks terrible
here are some stills and examples of what im getting

Any feedback would be helpful.

Build 20
Cook S4 lenses
4K HD

Here is a link to a .zip so you can see all the stills.

Hey Luis,

What I found best for GS footage is to send REDLog DPX sequences out of RC and then bring them into AE for the grade. AE does tend to bring the noise levels up in most R3D files, especially under tungsten light. DPX sequences are the best way to grade in AE. Atleast for me.

Try Import R3D file in Premiere + Make Sequences + Save
Then import premiere sequences in AE via Dynamic link.

This is due to "old" and "new" color science.
Untill the SDK is updated and impemented (I dunno if it's updated yet), you'll have to go the "DPX/log/low ISO/close to daylight" route for non-red applications...

Cheers

You guys are FAAAST and correct.
I have been explained by RED that its a color science new vs old thingy.

DPX seems to be the solution.

THANKS guys.
