That looks amazing!

Terry, if you ever flown the RC something (airplane or Helicopter even a small toy) you will be able to manage.

If not, you need to buy http://www.realflight.com/ and put some 200 hours of training on it.

You do not want to use any new camera on it. Buy used and older versions.
Once you have good experience you can put even EPIC.

Usually you crash it at low impact. It has easy replaceable arms with props. Most of the time you will replace one or two props when hard landing or crashing on some tree.

Andrew, Thanks for the info. Do you you prefer the Octocopters or the German model you posted about? Do you have a link or some info on the German model?

Terry, German copter is fast and has good antennas, thus good range.
Bit better GPS, more precision.

It comes with bidirectional RC radio.

The quadrocopter-us has heavy load version.

German “Sepa Kopter” is also working on heavy load one to be release this year.

Well, if you need car chase to follow go with Sepa.
For flying around the French castle or lighthouse I use Copter-US.

Looks like website there is down today.

If you can’t get to them via web, send me PM and I give you his e-mail.

My quadcopter has been arrived from England!!!

I'll post later more about it at DVXUSER.

Stay tuned...

Sanjin, would you mind also posting on this thread for Reduser. I think your flight and cinematic experience would be valuable to the folks who are in on this discussion.

We, too, are wanting to mount an Epic on an RC device...This thread has been super helpful in getting us up to speed...We are interested in your equipment results (I am "test"-camera agnostic at his point). We don't frequent DVX...

Many thanks...

Check this zoom in and zoom out capabilities:-)

Andrew.

Are you piloting all of these with FPV...? If so, what video transmitters are you using (ie. I see the spec's above on your German rig --- did it come turnkey or did you add it on as a third party purchase)...? I saw helifilms had a pretty nice configuration (BTS link)...Are you all using the same...?

Some of the distance being traveled seems quite far...would seem difficult for pilot to navigate without a FPV...?

I still fly for pleasure or simple projects.

For productions we hire the guy to do it. You need constant practice to do it right otherwise your odds to crash the expensive equipment is high.

Yes, we fly FPV for anything that goes away farther than couple of hundred yards.
Even if I put video goggles up on my forehead, I still watch the view finder downlink to see where camera is pointing.

Most cameras have NTSC or SECAM output even if camera is HD. If camera doesn’t have SD video output than we mount miniature camera on the stabilized camera mount aligned with the main camera so you see approximately where the main camera is pointing.

You don’t want to use stabilized mount for FPV camera. You will not be able to feel the craft. FPV camera have to be fixed to the body.

Also you want simple OSD to be over imposed on the FPV camera signal, it helps to find way home.

Actually all of the copters have fly home panic button.
Once pressed the copter will fly to the place where motors were started the first time, so if you are really lost, just press this button.

You can buy kit or you can get it RTF so it flies out of the box. All options could be mounted by yourself or by the guys that sales this copters.
