Hi All,

I am very happy to announce that Adobe has released the Epic Plugin for Premiere Pro, After Effects and Adobe Media Encoder. It is avail for CS5.5 and you can download it here:

http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/redepic_importer/

New Features Include:

1. Epic support including Rocket Support for Epic
2. Epic HDR support, import multiple tracks or blend them together
3. The ability to rotate and flip footage based on the camera orientation flag in R3D metadata
4. R3D Source Settings dialog now supports Echo port in Premiere Pro
5. Increased size of RED R3D Source Settings dialog on larger monitors

3-5 all work with Red One footage as well as Epic footage, so this is a great update for everyone...

You can even apply this to the CS5.5 trial so there is no reason not to try this out...

Go get, it and give us feedback...

Enjoy,

Dave

Awesome! Really great to see this going public.

That's awesome! Thanks to Dave, and everyone else at Adobe

Wow. My Epic-M arrives tomorrow. Great timing.

And HDRx support too? Sweet!

Thanks,

Michael Zaletel

Rob, Dave, Deanan, really great job on these updates. I'm very impressed with the new versions. Very much on the right track, and well worth the time you guys are investing in this.

Adobe and BMD are on fire tonight! EPIC support all around.

Thanks David and Adobe!

Graeme

Thanks Adobe, glad you guys put so much effort into making your programs Red-friendly :)

Great News,

Thanks for the update David.

One question - how will this plugin work when new HDR blend modes are made available - ie, magic motion? Will it require new development on your end or can blend modes be selected in Redcine-X before it hits Premiere?

Totally understand if the answer to that question is completely unknown to you guys at this stage.

I have to admit I was scared to go to Premiere a few years ago. But with the immense amount of RED support that Adobe has, I really believe they shattered the competition. After Effects is already the program I use most to grade my footage, it's only a smart move at this point to get into Premiere. Looks simple enough!

Yes at this point we will need to do development in our plugins to get any new blend modes. We are already talking to Rob and Deanan about how to do it.

Cheers

Fantastic, thanks for the heads up. Based on your current level of RED support I'm guessing you guys will have these new additions sorted out before any other NLE. I've never been happier about being in the Adobe camp :)

Are there any HDRx files available for download on RedUser? I have Premiere Pro all set up and I'd love to try out some EPIC R3D files but I can't find any online.
