Hi Guys,

Super excited to announce that we have just posted 5.5.1. I has a about 20 fixes in it. Most importantly for many on here it fixes our FCP support so that we now work with Resolve. You will need this build plus resolve 8.0.1.

Epic users you will need to reinstall the labs update after you patch.

Enjoy!!!

Best NLE I have ever used. Takes SO MUCH CRAPPY STRESS right out of it, and makes it fun again.

Thank you VERY MUCH for sorting out interoperability with Resolve. Awesome.

I really don't see why Adobe would want to close off color / finishing to Irididas products only now just because they bought them.

Good to play well with others. Just like Avid makes DS but they still work hard to make Media Composer work with all of the other finishing tools (Smoke, Scratch, Film Master, etc) - bravo to Adobe for doing the same thing.

I have to say one thing about ADOBE of late... Man they are impressing me.

Aftereffect 5.5 is the bomb.. I love it. and that stabilise tool is ridiculous technology. I sat in Flame lats night for 2 hours trying to stabilze a shot with the operator.. 2D, 3D.. you name we chucked everything at it.. Then dropped it into 5.5... 2 mins done... and SWEEEET!!!!! actually so perfect, it looks like I had a dolly track 80 foot in the sky.
I'm a ADOBE man well into the future if you guys keep this sort of tech up...

Sorry.. yes resolve support :)

The more options the better as far as I'm concerned. Right now depending on the project I can use Colorista II inside of both AE and Premiere, if it's a fast project the R3D metadata controls are deep enough to get a great quick grade on, I can now send it over to Resolve for a super professional grade - anything they do with Iridias now is just icing on the cake.

I have to say though, it would be nice to include Speed Grade in a more robust sort of dynamic link pipeline. Even though dynamic link has a few bugs right now if they can work it out so that I can edit in Premiere, composite and animate in AE, grade in Iridias and render only once thoughout the whole process... That would be awesome.

Edit: Even better if they add in multi-gpu support across the whole thing so I can use all the cards I've got for Davinci with Adobe.

Dave,
In CS5.5.1, Is there a fix for the R3D audio input problem in PP?

Great news, and it will make it into my next article just on time.

Much appreciated, not only Resolve integration, but Atomos ProRes fix too.

Thank you, Adobe, by, bye FCP!

It's getting better and better..

"In CS5.5.1, Is there a fix for the R3D audio input problem in PP?"

What is the nature of this problem?

Cheers

When you first open PP or just add an R3D it sometimes takes a while for the R3D to conform which makes it so (a) the clip won't playback, and (b) the waveform doesn't show or audio won't play. It's a bit annoying to have to wait.

Originally this problem showed up when I was trying to stream R3D over gigabit ethernet storage, but has continued to a lesser extent since putting files on an internal RAID drive. I almost wonder if, like the Epic, computers aren't going to need SSDs to keep up with the huge files we're getting from the camera.

Fantastic, Cool... You don't know how much time I'm going to save with this! I love you guys!!!

A clarification. I just applied the CS5.5.1 update to PP and it is NOT necessary to re-apply the Epic Labs Update. Either the Epic Labs update is included in CS5.5.1, or the update does not loose the Epic Labs install.
