Any Premiere genius people out there?

I am finally finishing the huge documentary we shot out at Burning Man. We have the final approval from Burning Man to make the DVDs.

I finished the DVD but am running into problems burning the master DL disc for replicating. I think I fixed the burning problem (started from scratch on all my Encore work)

But noticed another problem. In my final export of the film as a high quality .m2v file, I am getting these weird ghosting things in my credits.

It is when I fade a title on top of a fading image or video.

2 video tracks each item doing a fade to black. I have never seen this before. nor can I get rid of it. I have tried instead using the keyframes in the opacity. I also have added black video underneath both the tracks. Nothing changes this weird ghosting thing.

anyone an Adobe Premiere genius?

For whatever reason, the Dip to Black transition in Premiere is really weird. Try instead doing two crossfades, out to black and then in to black, using the crossfade transition.

It looks like the alpha of your caption is causing issues when you crossfade (to and from black) - and the caption is also active before it appears...

Have you tried re-timing the caption (and re positioning on the timeline) so that it appears/fades up and down only when there's an image onscreen?

Might not be the perfect fix, but it might work?

Don't have Premiere on this laptop, so I can't experiment... but the above should at least clean it up.

ya I am using the normal cross dissolve. I have tried the film dissolve and I have tried the dip to black which spans the cut.

I have the Nvidia 660 but probably didn't follow the right solution to get it recognized.

this weird text/fading problem is not something I had on my other system. I am on this new system because it has 32gb of RAM and export the 85 minute feature in 11 house instead of 23 on my older system that only has 24GB of ram

is there some fluke when exporting to a .m2v file at max quality?

fading a text over a fade to black....

Strange! Bring the clips into AE and just do it there. You can literally copy and paste the clips right from the timeline into a comp in AE.

Put a black solid underneath everything...Premiere does weird things when the background is technically transparent but shows up black.

Edit: While the black solid will probably fix your issue, there are sometimes other issues with fading multiple things if you just want everything to simply fade to black...sometimes it's also a good idea to just put a black solid over everything and have it fade up instead of fading everything else down.
