Tim,

Check your graphics driver. NVIDIA released new drivers recently and they mention fixing a crash on startup of CS5. At least this is what the release notes say for the latest Quadro drivers for Win7 64-bit.

Umm thats interesting there was a driver release a few weeks ago. I thought I was up to date but I may not be. Will have a look see - thank!

Kind of frustrating that the trial only supports DV but can play around with footage and the program at least until the discs arrive.

I must say that CS5 made material that was shot on a camera that is not to be named (here) work on my PC. I'd asume that Mercury has an effect on all setups and all kinds of footage including RED.

Updated my GTX285 drivers and AE/PS still don't open. "Stopped Working" APPCRASH. Pain in the ass. Gonna email Adobe see if they can open my eyes. Rather sort it now so that when the discs arrive I won't have any issues. Premiere works great though. So much soother.
