  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Adobe CC and Rocket X

It works. In premiere you have to right click the clip and go to the source settings and it will have an option at the bottom to use the redrocket x. In AE at full its super slow but at half it works just as fast as prores or even h264 depending on the compression you used. Hope this helps.

Thanks for reply, but are you using CC2015?
The source settings are no longer available in the clip...they have been moved.

The Rocket option is not selectable in CC2015

Is anyone using CC 2015 and Red Rocket-X?

I am using it with Rocket-X and it works. As Dimitri Luedemann explained, you have to right click on the clip in the project window and choose source settings. It seems like Adobe couldn't quite make up their mind where in the GUI to put this functionality. I find it maddening that I cannot click on the clip in the timeline and get to Source Settings, but there it is. From the clip in the timeline I click on "Find (The F*cking Clip) in Project" then I move my mouse away from the timeline to the project window, look for and find the highlighted clip, right click *that*, select Source Settings, and we're off to the races.

I agree that it's asinine that CC2015 has two almost identical menu structures for clips, one in the timeline that doesn't have Source Settings, and one in the Project Window that does, but maybe that will be one of the big new things to look forward to with CC2016. That, and better stability.

Your screen shot shows that you are lost in yet another dead-end of Adobe's ambivalence about how to deal with RAW. To solve your problem, abandon that dead end, go to the clip in the project and head over to Source Settings.

Thanks Michael,
I posted the wrong image. Look at this screen shot. In the Project window the "Source Settings" are also ghosted and not accessible.

Are you using the Rocket-X?
Which FW is installed on the Rocket-X? [RED ROCKET-X INSTALLER V2.1.24]
Which version of CC 2015 are you using? [9.01 (36) Build]
Which OS? [Windows 7 Professional SP1]

NOTE: The Rocket-X works just fine on the same computer inside Red Cine-X Pro, but in CC2015 [9.01 (36) Build], I am unable to select the Rocket-X (se attached screenshot).

Greg,

Sorry I don't know the answer. I'm using Rocket-X in a MacPro Tower and it works great in both CC2015 and Davinci Resolve 11 and 12. I'm using 9.0.1 (Build 36) just like you.
