Deanan,

Is RED making Adobe aware of all the recent changes and additions such as the RED Rocket, new color science and 4.5k resolution? It doesn't appear that the update to premiere (4.2) has anything red related in it. And judging from what some Adobe people have said in their forum, it did not appear they were aware of the changes nor did it appear that they needed to add anything to their plugin at this moment.... :embarassed:

Cheers for following up here and on
adobe/premiere forum.
Last word from Red was on 11 Aug with this....

I would guess within a month but don't know for sure.
I'd let Adobe know your interest also as feedback always helps.

Dave,

Yeah, but remember when the first Redcode plugin came out for premiere. "Only one more month," 6 months later we had the plugin. I have a feeling that at adobe, red is not on the top of their list right now for creating plugins. I'm still using build 17. While I love the integrated workflow of premiere and after effects, I'd love to upgrade to Build 21, but have no incentive to right now.

I don't know about that - from everything I've heard and read, RED is important to Adobe, but that because of PPro's native handling of the footage, sometimes updates take a little longer.

And someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but updates usually come from both Adobe and RED. I've always had to download something from RED along with the Adobe update for things to work, so I get the impression that they both are involved in the plug-in development.

I hope the 4.2 update will include updated RED support - we'll all find out in a couple weeks (or sooner).

Maybe our good old friend Obin can shed some light on this....:001_cool:

Didn't notice anything in the 10/30 announcement threads... hopefully an update soon?

Hopefully...even Vegas now supports build 20....
