I heard on another post that #600 was just shipping.

If that is true, then RED is already shipping more than expected in January 08. #600 makes it 500 for January 08.

Jim said:
"We expect to get production up to 400 cameras for January and 500-600 February on. 700 units by May.

So in feburary we can expect upto #1100. For the more optimistic ones read it as #1200. (Estimate is based on Jim's statement)

The Red FAQ has just been updated :
http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=7464

As of January 22, 2008, there is no change in this schedule. Translation: 101-300 are shipping currently, as fast as we can do it. We're shooting for getting 400 cameras out before month's end. We have just reached out to Reservation holders 301-500 for confirmation of order and final payment. Based on the current schedule every camera that has been ordered should be delivered by the end of May. I'll try and get those numbers nailed down by group in the coming weeks. Bear with us. We're learning a lot about what it takes to invoice, collect and ship 500+ cameras a month.

I'm curious where you saw that #600 was shipping. I work for a company that has #534 and it hasn't shipped yet.

There is no chance that #600 has shipped, currently the good people at RED are completing the shipments of 101-300.

RED are now preparing for shipping 301-500, this started with a mail sent to all in this range sunday 20th of January. RED claimed that they would ship all the way trough #700 in January, it seems ambitious - I like ambitous!
I hope to see my #476 by Januray 31st, but I will not bet on it!

Well I truly hope that you do get yours by the end of January because that means that I might get my personal one by the end of February. Only time will tell.

Mine is just under 800. . . and I'll be shocked if it doesn't come until the VERY END of February.

Hi Strongbad_2Z, I have quoted tj Williams (post 289 of current thread) saying that #600 was shipping.

But it's clear now that it is only upto #500 this month.

my rough guess, if everything goes well:

# 101-400 + # xx001-xx100 January (400 units)
# 401-900 February (500 units)
# 901-1400 March (500 units)
# 1401-1900 April (500 units)
# 1901-2600 May (700 units)
# 2601-3300 June (700 units)

#600 here. Oh how I wish this was true!! Havn't even gotten an email yet. I was heartbroken to hear that the emails stopped at #500, but what can you do...

Wow, Hamlet. . . I think that's WAY too optimistic.

My guess is that they will never get up to 700 cameras a month. Indeed, I'll be very surprised if they get up to 500 before the fall.

But, we'll see how it goes.

Stephen

No, Hamlet is not being too optimistic. That is what RED has already said in other posts and email to me. Assuming they don't have any more "acts of god" ;-)

We'll see. . .

:-)

I can tell you this for sure: I wouldn't want to go into surgery with those kind of odds.

:-)

Therefore I put in "if everything goes well", I just summed up Jim's and Big Jon's comments about delivery to a schedule with # and months.

#2734 left floating. Jim only mentioned til #2700
