I have a Leica Summicron 50 that I'd like to try out with the Komodo I'm getting this week. Should I adapt it using an Leica M to EF adapter and then the EF-RF? Or is it better to go straight to the RF. Usually seems better to have less adapters but I've heard of some issues with the M lenses not having enough distance to the sensor so maybe the extra adapter could be better.

I also have an R 28mm Emarit and am curious about the same question.

Leica M to RF is the only one to focus to infinity. Some Leica M to RF adapters allow for "closer focusing" in addition to allowing for infinity focus by incorporating an additional helical focusing ring. One adapter is usually better than two.

Thanks- is there any particular brand that works best?

Ben from Leica suggested this one from another post.

I have no personal experience with it. I have two for my Komodo. One standard adapter and one with helical close focus. Unless I need close focus, I use the standard one. The one I have with the helical close focus is not the one listed above and mine rapidly developed some undesirable play when pulling focus.
