Where and when: Saturday, 17th of November, Coles Bay, Tasmania, 11am till 3pm
....from the president of Tasmanian Branch of the Australian Cinematographers Society, Peter Curtis ACS:
"Join the ACS Tasmania branch as we explore the world of underwater cinematography with Pawel Achtel, the inventor of the DeepX and 3Deep underwater housing for the RED EPIC camera. The DeepX and 3Deep are the first underwater housings that allow capture of 5k high resolution underwater images without distortion and fuzziness in either 2D or 3D configurations.
Subjects covered will include:
. underwater optics and how different it is from filming on land.
. a short workshop on stereoscopic 3D.
. Demonstrate '3Deep', the world's first non distorting and sharp corner-to-corner 3D underwater housing
. We will disassemble, set-up and test the whole 3D rig with 2 Epics and a Marshall 3D monitor
The workshop will be held at Coles Bay, on Saturday the 17th of November, starting at 11am and wrapping up around 3pm. Light refreshments will be available. If there are sufficient numbers we we might organise a mini-bus or at least a car pooling arrangement from both Launceston and Hobart on the day."
For further information or to RSVP contact me directly or the president of the Tasmanian branch, Peter Curtis ACS.
