I just thought if somebody is learning RGBs then it is good to know for them serious commonly used acronyms on sets

PL can also be a Polarizer.
CPL is a Circular Polarizer.

UV = Ultraviolet
IR = Infrared

M$ = A flawed operating system company

DV = Digital Video
HDV = High-def Digital Video

R3D = Not really an acronym, but Red's REDCODE RAW file format (may be mistaken for an acronym, so people might look for it here -- may as well have it...)

ISO = International Standards Organization

DNG = Digital NeGative (Adobe-sponsored file format for standardized RAW data encoding -- still images)

TIFF = Tagged Image File Format (still images -- frequently used in DI)

PNG = Portable Network Graphics (another still-image file format, losslessly compressed and superior to GIF)

GIF = Graphics Interchange Format (older still-image format than PNG, became unpopular due to patent issues which have since been resolved, losslessly compressed)

HDTV = High-Definition TV

TV = Television

RCA = wow, take your pick:
