Hi,

I'm finding that some TVC's expect dailies transcoded to an offline format and then delivered as a standard def DVD as well all in a matter of hours.

The Rocket has made the first part possible for RED footage, but the transcode from ProRes for example to a DVD in compressor takes quite a bit of time even on the faster settings.

Nvidia is claiming increased performance with Quadro, and while I don't use it much, I do own Production Premium CS4.

Is anybody using a Quadro for Mac? and if so what is your experience in general, and specifically can you share your experience with transcodes?

I'm also open to other options... but I don't have a PCIe slot to spare. :-)

Thanks,

Steve

i am looking for an hardware or software encoder realtime (or faster than RT) from loooooong time and i never found it....

the elemental accelerator for the quadro seems works only from native HDV or XDCAM footage or AVCHD , and not from any codec like prores....

but maybe someone know a super fast mpeg2 solution?

Thanks!
