Does anyone know if adobe premiere Cc or any version of premiere, will utilize two graphics cards such as SLI compatible in a MSI Titan gtx980 16gb dedicated video dual card laptop. I just want to know if im better off buying a machine with a solo 8gb card if premiere wont take advantage of both in mercury playback engine on a laptop? Is the SLI dual card feature more beneficial for running programs such as Resolve on an MSI laptop?

Dual 980s are crap in a laptop. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but two is not always better than one. They will thermal throttle big time and there's no way to stop it. If you want SLI, you'll get maximum efficiency on a desktop, especially a water cooled one.

Premiere Pro does use multiple GPUs. For general editing, in most cases only one GPU is used (though some plugins do use both). The second GPU kicks in for exports. Also, SLI isn't used for compute - it's for gaming, which channels two display outputs to one.
