This was my first test shoot with the RED Scarlet-X. Shot at 48fps @ 3k with Canon L Series Primes. All natural lighting, almost completely wide open apertures and almost always using the Singh-Ray Vari-ND-Duo. I wanted to see how the sharpness was affected as well as aberrations when being strongly backlit. The lenses performed well except for the wide open backlit scenarios, where the green/purple aberrations were WICKED. Not usable in my opinion without touching up or having shot with a higher f stop. Shot in Inglewood, CA. Starring Abby Tallman Shot/Cut by Richie Trimble Music by Portishead - "Nobody Likes Me"

You had me at "Hot Girls" ... but the footage looks beautiful.

I want to invest in the company that makes that body suit. :w00t:

Richie, how did you adapt the Singh-Ray (77mm) to your L primes (72mm) ?

So let me get this straight. You find some hot girls, talk them into taking a drive down to Inglewood, go into deserted and heavily vandalized homes and whip your camera out?

You got some balls. nice work.

A 72mm to 77mm Step-up ring. You can find them very cheap on Ebay. I also have a step-down ring from 82mm to 77mm for my 16-35mm.

Lol i happened to know her from the East Coast and simultaneously my other friend shot fashion stills of her. Good day for experimentation :D

Congratulations, you managed to make Inglewood look BEAUTIFUL, LOL!

Where did she change?

I'm impressed with the fact that this was natural light -- any chance you could post your buddy's stills so we can compare images? I'd love to see how well the 3k stood up to his stills.

Did you take any 4k?

We had a little area for her to change outfits in. She was a true sport braving the cold for this one!

I didn't shoot any 4k this time around. He has only uploaded two stills so here they are:

Jean-Claude shot on a full frame Nikon DSLR - also only used natural lighting.

I wish there was a way to import non-RMD looks from other apps into RCX and apply them to .r3d RAW...

Oh, and the change room question was a joke...
