Does anyone here have any experience using the Abakus 726 (260) Converter? As i understand, this converter allows you to use 2/3" B4 mount cine style lenses (and eng ones also, not the direction i am going) on 35mm PL mount cameras. It is similar to the one they sell here for 16mm (2k), but i guess it would work in 4k? has anyone used this? does it look sharp? how about light loss?? i have a lovely fujinon 15x7.3 that i would love to keep if this pans out. Please, help!

They work pretty well, although the corners can get a bit soft. May be more an issue with a given 2/3" lens than the adaptor. It eats two full stops of light.

thanks, mitch. the 2 stops is the deal breaker for me. can i ask, how much light loss is there on the s16mm (2k) version?

Negligible. The light loss comes because the 35mm version is spreading the light out over a far greater image area. I would estimate about 1/4 stop on the S-16mm version.

thank you very much for that info. by the way, what do you sell those for and how do they compare to the one they sell here? i hear they are the same thing? pm me if you like with that info. and also, is there much loss of sharpness and/or contrast? how come i don/t hear about a lot of people using them?

I know a number of people are using them as we have made the cable to go from the camera to the B4 lens servo for a bunch of people. These devices work pretty darn well. We sometimes have people using them on the Phantom as well.

I should mention that Abel has the Abacus 132 B4 to S-16 (2K) adapter for rent.
