  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

A White Redding

Good stuff Richard! Good work out huh?

Wow! That looks truly amazing for a run and gun 1 man shoot, holly cow!

What you'll learn if you hang out here long enough is that you can't possibly run and gun with RED.

Just change the word "you" to "they" and universe comes back into alignment. For some people run and gun RED style is doable.

Great work Richard! Congrats!!

Richard First i want to say congrats for your Friend wedding and for your

Amazing one man show .all this Job with

Natural light and only you are great

Your works are the most clear evidence that Red will do RUN and GUN jobs.

Thanks dudes.. Red is heavy as hell but my shoulderblades are getting used to it after owning for almost 2 months now.. Run&gun is a lot more complex with this camera but it can be accomplished if you have the patience.

shot on 4k, or 2k?

man, this stuff looks good.

I got married a year ago (actually 51 weeks ago yesterday, but who's counting)... We looked at wedding videos, but on seeing their show reels there was no way in hell I could justify paying what they asked for the pure shit they produced.

That on the other hand was a fantastic video - I think you could play your RED and all accessories and all your Post gear in one wedding season with that sort of work.

yeah, actually, I was gonna say your stuff is rather good. I haven't seen wedding videos as cinematic in feel until now... not just saying that cuz its RED but that may very well have helped.

thanks guys..

Shot this in 4k. Last wedding video I shot was back in July, Paris. Used a Brevis, Zeiss glass and a HVX for that.. Came out really nice but I wish I had a Red at that time.. It def helps 'sell' the look..

Richard, that was with the 18-50 right? Having run around with an 18-90 strapped on the front of my camera, I can sympathize with how much of a workout it can be, but I think with the right combination of lenses, a good shoulder pad, and the camera balanced just right, shouldn't be too tough to do some long days handheld with RED as you have demonstrated.

Shooting another one this weekend. Never thought I'd be shooting weddings with Red, but here I am going on Red Wedding #2.

Richard is the one that got me curious to try the first one as a test after I saw his video. I can say, they are not for the faint of heart. I'll post a picture of my rig shortly setup for shooting this weekend.

So, here's a quick look at the rig I'll be using for the wedding this weekend. Keep in mind I didn't have mics hooked up in this video and the Red Cage may not be used at all times. I may decide to go battery belt for some of it. I've also decided to go with EVF, which may be limiting for certain shots, so I may decide later I want the LCD as well. Also, I'll be using a Mini Frezzi, not the Sony for a video light.

Anyway, wish me luck. The first one was tough, but I feel I'm better prepared and I'm always up for a challenge.

Here's the link to the video.
