  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

A taste...

There will be something in this announcement regarding an improvement to post for those that are on a budget. A more simplistic approach.
 
There will be plenty of surprises the 13th. We all are exhausted working on this stuff... but the adrenaline is keeping us going. We are scheduled to have a big team meeting tomorrow to figure out how to handle the anticipated response. We expect that things will never be the same.

We appreciate everyone's patience. It has been quite wearing on all of us. But the wait will soon be forgotten... until the next wait begins. :)

I'm assuming the anticipation we're feeling as we wait for the announcement will be NOTHING compared to the wait for delivery.

Thanks Jim, I am looking forward to it. I know how it feels to work hard and see your dreams materialize. I wanted this option for a camera when I was in film school 11 years ago. I fell in love with 35mm and wanted to somehow emulate that but without the expense of film. I didn't find it and I started working in animation and web design instead. Now, RED has brought me back to where I started. It is incredible!
 
Hey, what was the deal with a million posts? Was that before the announcement or the same week of the announcement?

Right now:
Threads: 19,682, Posts: 311,786, Members: 15,968, Active Members: 4,484

If you are still confident about the million posts even if within the same month, then I think they must have reached the DNR of film. That's the only thing that could create such a buzz...

SPECULATION is almost OVER!!!
Well, I am sure we'll speculate the crap out of the specs so nevermind.
 
Has anyone considered that tomorrow's announcement might include news of Red buying another company? I would have thought Dalsa was a candidate until last week.

Who could be on that hypothetical list? Foveon, Vision Research, Silicon Imaging, Arri? :)

Foveon just went to Sigma.
 
They don't have too buy Dalsa. Who do you think makes the sensors already?
