Hi Everyone,

Here's a trailer for my senior thesis film shot on the Scarlet.

It's amazing that as a student I have the privilege of owning such an amazing camera. With all this news of upgrades and the future, I find it amazing that some people don't take the time to realize that four years ago when I started film school, students like me thought it was IMPOSSIBLE to have the ability to shoot 4K with the limited resources we students have. Now technology is moving so fast that I think we take things like 4K for granted.

At the end of the day, these are still amazing cameras and I am so thankful to have the opportunity to shoot with one of them.

Thanks guys! A lot of hard work and budget (for a student short) has gone into this. We're all very excited to be premiering the film at the actual theatre we shot it in next month!

Looks great man. God, what I wouldn't have given to have the option to shoot on RED in film school... we still had to use a Bolex or an Arri, pay for cans of film, had to count feet (limiting our creativity), and then we had to conform the negative. I appreciate the history of film and it makes me appreciate the options these days but, man, "kids these days" really are in a great time to learn to be filmmakers, where they don't have to restrict their creativity (as much) to great a great-looking project.

Congrats man.

Jason, it wasn't too long ago (first two years of college) that we were shooting on an Aaton A-Minima for our 16mm film projects. Just recently (the past year or so) I had the privilege of meeting Zac Crosby and his Scarlet. I knew then that I needed to raise the funds to have him op my film. The school doesn't have a Scarlet (yet) since we are a small program. But hopefully my film will get the administration more interested in RED and the potential for students to learn a professional system and workflow. No more of that DSLR stuff.

On a side note, I can say I am privileged to own my own Scarlet now after the crazy BT Scarlet deal. The planets and wallet aligned for that to happen so I make sure I don't take it for granted seeing as I even haven't graduated from film school.

Thanks for the compliments everyone! My DP makes my work look better than I am! This was his first real big project and he did amazingly.
