  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

A request for any Scarlet owners

If any of you who have received your Scarlets happen to have an external recorder available (PIX, Samurai, KiPro Mini, etc) -
I would be very curious to see what the frame looks like on the SDI output when recording 4K 16:9.

There have been posts saying the image will be framed with black borders - but I'm curious to see what the frame actually looks like.
If someone could grab a clip out of the SDI from Scarlet and post a frame grab or a short clip it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Got a demo KiPro sat in front of me waiting for my Scarlet to arrive.

Ill pop it on the EPIC tomorrow if I get a chance. Should be the same result, no?

Sure someone will beat me to it though.

Sound Devices show an Epic/PIX combo on a video demo on their site that clearly shows the image framing with the (frustrating!) crop factor. My discussions with SD seems to suggest that it will require RED to correct the output at the SDI to solve this issue. This was some weeks ago... if things have changed I would be interested! Its the only thing keeping me from dropping the Dime on a PIX 240.
