  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

A quick, and probably stupid, question about watermarks..

Recently I've had a project that has gone sour and the DP has been somewhat, umm.. ok, we'll call it "childish".

I want to be able to send some REDRAW footage to her, but she's proven in the past that she can't be trusted to properly credit the production company who owns the footage.

Is it possible to apply an indelible watermark to all the RAW footage? Or do I have to render out via Premier Pro with it on (which, to save myself time, I really don't want to do..)

Any ideas, thoughts, musings or cake (I like cake) would be appreciated.

Gary

There are watermark options in RCXp, but I've never used them so I don't know how thorough/pliable they are. Also, if they're on the edge of footage they can be cropped out without degrading the frame too much (something to consider if this DP is that untrustworthy.)

Thanks for the tip there Mike - I'd actually never considered about her cropping out the bottom!

I expect to be hated for this but..

you cant send raw files to someone who you don't trust.
Use your NLE to watermark the frames with your company copyright across the middle of the frame with an overlay, on a transcoded file.
Or.. host it yourself, and the tell the Dop to send people to your site to show it.
It will still show the quailty of the work.
Or send nothing.
