someone please post this on dvxuser.. I have a name over there "zakaree"..but i dont know how to attach photos there...
anyways.. Im operating/dping a new reality show out in Florida right now..
Its an EX3 shoot, which are really not that comfortable to operate.. so I brought along my ET MANTIS... and guess what? it works like a charm.

here are some photos..

How do you do on the fly adjustments with both hands on the handgrips?

I think he meant how do you do adjustments to focus, zoom, aperture on the fly if both of your hands are on the grips. If you have an AC, well, there's your answer. I've seen a lot of people who do one-man-band type shooting, mostly ENG work, that have only one grip so their other hand is always on the camera.

... mum look, a handheld rig that costs one fourth of the camera at the top of it!

.... :)

ok ok, i'll stop it. i'm not startin with my "pricey Mantis" whine again. ;-)

well.. I purchased mantis for RED.. but it is a pro application.. it is not meant for the weekend shooter or film student.

for reality operating.. the operator takes care of everything. You dont need both hands on the hand grips.. the camera is like 7-8 pounds...
I Hold on with my right hand.. and keep my left hand on the lens focus/zoom
