bottom line: right now you can't buy a Scarlet. when you can this will not be a good camera but right now it's the best of class hands off. and at $799..why not

As a stop gap if you are waiting for Scarlet, GH1 with the hack, if you are up to the risk, is a good deal. So is the Panasonic TM700. It depends on what matters more to you - low light and shallow depth of field OR superior resolution, color accuracy, manual controls, form factor, 1080/60p etc. The TM700 is a super camcorder.

I disagree, it will make a good B cam, espcially for those opting for 2/3" and might find themselves in need of a larger chip for certain shots.

Ordered my GH1 body only new off of eBay for $650. Arrives today. I'll be using the RED One at my school and considering the AG-AF100 when it comes out as a more robust camera that will cut together well with the GH1. If there's a definite Scarlet anouncement before December, however, that may just vie for my attention and moneys.
