Very cool Peter! Congrats RED team!

we love u Peter, shoot ur next feature on M-X.

Glad to see this.

I thought the most interesting thing he said was that he (as a self-professed "non-technical person") was able to take the camera out early in the morning and grab shots for The Lovely Bones all on his own. In spite of how much as we discuss specs and technology on this forum, it seems like the real significance of RED is going to be the liberation of the natural instinctive artist.

bingo

I hope Jackson not mentioning Scarlet is not a sign of Scarlet being indefinitely delayed. Its been troubling that there haven't been any Scarlet news in the past months. Scarlet is where my budget level is, and I'm disappointed its taking more and more the "stepchild" role in the new generation of Red Cameras...

Red, don't forget about us!

Nice - I love how modest and humble he is despite his accomplishments, and that he's become such an inspiration to so many people.

I think it has everything to do with the fact that he is Peter Jackson, and cost is no issue for him. The Epic is better than the Scarlet at every sensor size. The Epic is built for the high end production and its the first camera coming out for the second generation of Red.

The Scarlet follows the Epic, simple as that.

Thanks for posting this. I missed it twice at NAB. May I suggest a screening room that is in a constant loop throughout the day. Maybe a smaller 4K "lounge" area for next year? "A RED SPEAKEASY" perhaps?

That's definitely Park Road Post...I've been there and it's an awesome place. Designed and built by PJ and his wife it is exactly what a filmmaker friendly post facility is supposed to be like.

Got to watch a 35mm print of the big elephant attack scene in one of the screening rooms in a leather recliner in full Dolby Surround. Damn sweet.

Good for Peter for passing on such a glowing endorsement.

Did anybody notice that knob sticking out the top of his camera? Looked like an extra plate/opening or something... maybe i'm crazy

Dont worry.. we wont :)

Epic just comes first ( it always has ) , and people just saw working prototypes, so that is why everyone is talking about it :)

He looks so YOUNG! I guess this business is good for you after all.

He also seems like such a nice, down to earth guy. Awesome.
