I'm going to get a Man Purse, or a backpack or a fisherman's vest, or all three. What do you guys do to get extra pockets or carrying capacity?

Shorts/pants with cargo pockets...

I have a really sweet Oakley backpack that goes everywhere with me.

Vests... Find one that you like and is "made/set up" well to serve your purposes. Surplus store for military might be the way to go...

This is on top of using a belt with pouches right? If not, go to Filmtools.com and look for AC starter kit.

Just Say No to the Man Purse.

Shawn nailed it -- huge cargo pockets + maybe a vest.

This is what I use, it is effectively a man purse, but say it with me... "Enhanced Battle Bag". There is a certain manly ring to it that one simply cannot ignore. As you can see in the picture, you can even attach a knife to it if you are truly concerned about your masculinity.

I use one to hold my Ambient timecode slate, some tools, a couple of audio attenuators (in M.O.L.L.E. 40mm grenade pouches), wireless RF receiver, and of course the call sheets and scripts in the detachable map case / cover.

those pouches you see are not included in the purchase price, you have to buy them separately. I believe they are showing a 3x M-16 mag pouch and a shotgun shell pouch, but they offer all types and sized of utility pouches and MOLLE has become the new standard for attachment, replacing the old A.L.I.C.E. or 77 speed clips, so most any modern military pouch could be attached to this.
