This is a little short that we shot last month in Shreveport, Louisiana for the LA Film Prize Competition. This shoot was an absolute blast! We had an amazing cast and crew and I think we're going to have something really solid out of this. Unfortunately I can't show the full thing until we've run the festival circuit.

Here's a little teaser. Go here for FullScreen HD.

Mind you I'm just an architectural photographer from Chicago out playing filmmaker, but I'm having a really wonderful time doing it.

and... we just heard tonight that our little film has been selected as a finalist for the Louisiana Film Prize, which I first heard about right here on RedUser.

PSYCHED!

CB this looks awesome. Every frame is very cinematic. One thing I noticed is in BTS all the setups (porch, overhead on kid outdoor, etc) are in daylight but the pics/footage it seems to be dusk. Did you guys just setup in the day and wait til night to shoot all that? Or was it shot during dusk but you really darkened it in post to make it look like dusk?

After having been on a couple other shorts for the same competition, it was a joy to work with a DP who invested the proper time into lighting and composition the way it deserves. One director I was gaffing for after your film actually told me, "We don't have time to worry about lighting. We'll fix it in post." Thanks for giving us such a great set experience. I'd rather shoot with this humble architecture photographer over most of the "real" DPs I've been under.
