A Little RED Love...

Just thought that I would throw a little love to RED for another excellent customer service experience.

My RED hard drive died on Friday afternoon, just before the weekend (good timing, yes?). A quick note to that lovely lad Nate, my once and future Bomb Squadder, and all will be made whole again. Experiences like this make me very happy that I took the RED pill.

My thanks, praises, and cherishments to the wizards behind the curtain.

That would be great, sometimes I get so uke:from all the whining by some people. Worries about gear where not even the specs are released...

Nate explained to me that I could send in the dead drive with a clean hard drive, and they could pull the data and send it back -- so they can repair the drive and do the data recovery at the same time. I haven't heard anyone else mention how this process works -- but it will save the production time and money to have RED doing the data recovery as part of their service.

I think a Love Department is not such a bad idea. Can't have too much of that. Except that I won't be kissing DJ, we will stick with our secret handshake.

Thanks, Erik, we could use it, wrapping a feature tomorrow that had a rather grueling shoot schedule. Great actors and locations, though, hope the thing comes together. Thankfully, we have nothing to do with posting it, it's on to the next thrilling adventure next week. Hope all is well with you and that we get to work together again soon.
