  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

A little Nikon Love....

Totally thrilled to get this news (eventhough I did just buy the optiteck). Thanks again for bringing the excitement back into the technology that we use to make films.

Sorry to say it like this, but... I'm in love with you guys ! My precious nikon mount !

The Nikon mount as most of you know has been a bit tricky as Nikon requires actual motors in the mount where Canon has the motors in the lenses.
Thanks for the update, Jarred !

How about the AF motors in the Nikon G lenses ? Are they faster then the Canon L lenses ?

Great
News!

Does this have a wicked locking system like the canon mount?

The iris looks so smooth.

Waiting, patiently. My Nikons were the reason I justified buying a RED One. Birger still has my deposit money for the Nikon mount that never came to be. Doug made a couple great solutions, then came Jacek. The Optitek works great, but it's still a dumb mount. Have never been a beta tester for RED, would love the opportunity. But more importantly, would love to finally get the mount I've been waiting for all these years. Hurry UP!

Did you really build what I thnk you built?

If so you are a mad genius Pawel. I still have my Nikonos IV and 35mm, just couln' let em go...

Pawel's probably asleep so I'll answer for him - and it's yes! He has a link to pictures and info in the bubble blowers thread and the epic underwater housing thread.

By the way Jarred, any video of the lens focussing? Pretty please?

Jarred or Someone: ¿can we use old F, Non-AI or AI Nikon mounts with the Epic Nikon mount???

Some developers recomend to avoid this with digital cameras to prevent damage electronics contacts.

Crucial to me!

This is the final piece of the puzzle to make my Epic system a reality. Very exciting to hear some news! Thanks Jarred.

If you took away everything that is great about the DSMC program.. and only left the fact that you can change between Canon, Nikon, PL, PV, RM and Leica-M mounts in less than a minute and use all the random optical jewels from various companies from the past, present and future.. it would still be quite revolutionary. A Glass lover's dream come true. And the majority of those mounts being electronic? Icing on the cake.

What is a RM mount? Red mount? Great to see a glimpse of the future. Thank you. I suppose we will have to wait for the Red Electronic Lenses to see the RedMote-Pro. The idea of controlling focus on Nikon/Canon/Red makes me truly excited.
