  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

A little Nikon Love....

Ah, but Peter, you forget the Birger! That was the real fun on the Red 1. And alas, they never got to Nikon. At any rate, it's all good, but I'm glad another "scam" is coming down the pike. Sign me up for testing in Ethoipia.

I was one of the first ones to have the Birger while it was still "approved" by RED. But the path to Birger was not an easy one. I think that thread broke all the records here on the forum... Nikon ( albeit dumb ) was available from the get go for 1/6 the cost of the Birger...

Have you settled on a price range yet?

This is a great news for me,I have old Nikon Ais prime set ,Thank you Red Team

What? You can switch from a PL mount to a Canon or Nikon mount...without buying a completely new camera body? How revolutionary! Just wait until the other guys catch onto that. Not.

Looking good, team...

Can't tell you how happy I am to see that thing working. Really looking forward to it. My Epic arrives tomorrow. Can I get this mount the day after?

You actually have Leica R mount lenses? :-)

Jim

Please bring out a Leica R mount!!! One that locks the lens tightly like the Canon mount!!!

Don't worry.. we still have time on this one to get into production. Enjoy your Optitek.

But I will enjoy the Optitek in the meantime. Thank you for the comforting words, Jarred.

Anyways... here you go.. first look at the DSMC Nikon Mount in action.. Here is the Iris control "dampened" mode that takes out the click click click shifts you sometimes see in iris pulls. Since we make the motors.. we can make it pretty damn smooth.

This makes me happy. Definitely worth staying up for.

This makes me want to grab my credit card :wink5:

Jarred, is there a chance that we'll see these rolling out in the middle of 2012? Or the end of the year is a more accurate guess?

Damn you Jim & Jarred,

I have the Canon mount, the RED PL mount, the Spacecam Leica mount and the Panavision mount of rmy Epic but now you do this.... as Little Me and Dr. Evil said to each other... "You complete me"

Very good to see progress on the Nikon mount. Really hope you go from prototype to production soon.
It is on my wish-list (as long as it is not too expensive) since I have a dozen Nikon lenses (from 10mm to 400mm) sitting in the cupboard waiting to be used with the Scarlet.

(Gold Ring, get it, hehe)

Smokes of the holy variety! My Nikon glass is ready for 'the love' (have been neglected for around 2 months of scarlet ownership)

Nice one! Look forward to order the Nikon mount.

BTW, it will go nicely with my my Nikon Nikonos mount, which has a nice feature of being water resistant: :ihih:

Did you really build what I thnk you built?

If so you are a mad genius Pawel. I still have my Nikonos IV and 35mm, just couln' let em go...

If you took away everything that is great about the DSMC program.. and only left the fact that you can change between Canon, Nikon, PL, PV, RM and Leica-M mounts in less than a minute and use all the random optical jewels from various companies from the past, present and future.. it would still be quite revolutionary. A Glass lover's dream come true. And the majority of those mounts being electronic? Icing on the cake.

Well, the same can be said for motion RAW.

And Graeme's magic sauce.

And free updates.

And 5K.

And HDRx.

And 13.5 stops of DR without it.

And half the weight of the opposition.

And on and on...

Buzzed about Nikon mount.
