This is my little inexpensive solution to use the battery as a counter weight on the shoulder mount:

You need the Shuttle Mount for REDmote: http://www.viewfactor.net/products/epic-scarlet-acc/shuttle.html

And the Proaim Tripot Mounting Plate: http://www.thecinecity.com/eshop/product.php?productid=277&cat=291&page=2

EDIT: If the Quick Back does not snap in correctly, remove the anodising on several points. That is easy (an ape can do that).

The result is a adjustable and safe V-Mount base:

I've been looking for a solution just like this!!!

What quick release do you have on the back of the v-mount plate, Quick Back wooden camera?

Hi Carl, yes it is the "Quick Back" from Wooden Camera...

Well lucky me... I just ordered one and then saw this...

Ive heard the Wooden Camera Quick Back plate wiggles a bit when it is attached to The camera with a battery. how does it feel on the Viewfactor mount? Is it secure? Does it move at all?

The Viewfactor mount is a little bigger (more solid) as the mount on the camera. The Quick Back plate holds very closely and save, i notice just a minimal movement (no problem).

Well, unless
1) I got a bum mount or
2) Peter modded his ViewFactor Redmote Shuttle mount and didn't mention it...

The Shuttle will NOT likely hold a battery V-plate correctly w/o being modded. Its too THICK and doesn't (at least, mine didn't) allow the V-plate clips to correctly engage into the side slots on the SHUTTLE.
Result, plate will come loose and pop off (...incoming!...)

So I had my shuttle machined to fit and now it latches positively.
I think either ViewFactor or Woodencamera are missing out on a great use for the Shuttle (mod) to allow cheap (ish) multiple mount points for their V-plate kits.
My mod allows me to either hang my WC V-plate off its proper mount on the rear of the Scarlet OR off the rear of the shoulder-pad where I have (like Peter) a Shuttle...

Hi Stu, i have removed the anodizing on the recesses for the clips of the V-plate (the Shuttle mount slips in correctly). That was enough for my Quick-Back. No other modifications...

ah.
My Shuttle took a real shaving to get it to lock properly. odd.

Guess folks will figure it out when they do a trial-fit. Great idea tho!

The shuttle was designed for the Redmote which has a flexible back. This leads to a better fit for the Redmote. We cannot guarantee its usefullness as a mount for battery plates and the batteries that go with those plates.
