  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

A known issues with solutions and workarounds thread would be very helpful

Couldn't agree more. I know we don't want misinformation or bashing, but it would be great not to bump into problems that others have already found. Also it would make it easier to know whether to spend time documenting a problem to show to the Red team. Any chance of a mod helping us with this? Could be just as valuable a resource for the Red technical elves as for us users imho.

Know issue, or bug, sometimes while using HDRx, and pressing record, the monitor will jump to the X track. It doesn't do it all the time, so the partial solution is to just stop recording and record again...

If it gets stuck on the X track, the only solution is to turn HDRx off and on again every take! Or you might not notice and start exposing with the X track!

If you post this kind of things, please be as detailed as possible: monitoring setup, firmware version, resolution, frame rate, ...

I think this is a good idea. Would have loved a nod from the RED team, if it's ok...

Also I would like to add hardware solutions to the issues list.

If I might add. I think a

SOLVED ISSUES thread set up like a FAQ would be great. Many times the same question is asked over and over when it was solved in a thread that has long been buried.

KNOWN issues gets a bit precarious because they do get solved and people do not know that.

It's also hard because there is a huge social component to REDUSER and the information is released amidst all of that.

A thread like

HARDCORE ANSWERS Similar to the FCP X FAQ Apple just posted could solve problems for people.

I was after something like like this some time ago about the corrupt frame issue that was very present on the forum and repeatedly asked about, but there was no reaction from RED and some fellow REDusers bashed me for asking to place this issue and the known solutions so that people don't need to run into the same problems others have solved and loose time and money. But I'm glad this idea comes up again and finds support. I think it should at least be a sticky if not a written page on RED.com or downloaded with the manual
