So I've decided I just don't like barn doors, especially chinsy ones that snap onto the front of a reflector. But for the Westcott Skylux I just purchased, such a barn door is the recommended way of getting a gel holder. It's frustratingly clunky.
Anyone have any thoughts on some way of attaching a gel holder without barn doors? Ideally something that snaps directly into a standard 7" reflector just like grids do. Paul C Buff makes something similar but unfortunately it's permanently mated to its Balcar-mount reflector, whereas the SkyLux are Bowens mount.
Surely someone has taken one of those grid frames and glued a small "knife blade" gel holder to the front of it, right? That seems so straightforward. But I can't find it.
