1. the operating manual says to attach the RED ARM to the camera body using the shorter screw, but the longer screw is far too long to screw into the the RED LCD. is this correct?

2. does it matter which end of the monitor cable you plug into the LCD and camera?

3. can I buy an extension cable for the cradle? I'd like to place the cradle in a backpack i can wear instead of going hand held with the cradle on the body.

more questions probably coming soon ;)

THANKS

1.) The long screw does go into the LCD. You rotate the screen on until it stops and then screw the round disk up to the monitor.

2.) I don't think it matters, but I find that connecting the straight end of the cable to the LCD allows more flexibility in arm movement.

3.) You can have one made I'm sure.

I can't believe this is 10' long cable

No way the one in the picture is 10 feet long.
I am sure there is one but please Red, stop disrespect us, your customers, the whole Red store is a disgrace.
There is no sufficient description of the items, there is some misleading information in the picture, the Red body only picture is with the CF module, while you have to buy it separately.
I am going to stop here and net get into manufacturing and shipping issues as I already have a name of anti-red while the opposite is true. I just want that things will be done properly.

Hahaha. Yeah, watch what you say.

Bought 6" for steady and 10" for Dykortech and received them already. I assure you they are long as said, if measures are what matters you.

I am sure they are long but the picture doesn't look of the actual item. For a company that sell cameras and accessories for thousands of USD for each buyer they should put the picture of the actual item. It doesn't look 10'.

Yeah, i noticed. Putting aside that advertising can be mendaciuos (the 10" is not as sexy as the one showed in the picture...) i think they are just super busy to fix a new item that is on the shelves since a few days. But i'm sure its a matters of seconds and they will fix it.

Thanks Paolo for your calming tones. I need it. I have a full belly on the way Red are marketing their cameras and accessories.
I invested a lot in their cameras and I hate to see that attitude towards the people that fund their adventure.

You guys are talking about the LCD cable. He wants a cable for the cradle so he can put it in his backpack. I'm assuming then that what he actually wants is a long drive cable as well as a long battery cable. The battery cable exists in the form of the battery belt clip at $290. Although with a simple turn around, you could use the 10 foot dc power cable that comes with the power pack. If someone would offer to make those. As far as I know there's not a longer drive cable. Am I wrong? Also, out of curiousity, why is the long screw for the LCD so ridiculously long. Is there a purpose for this? I thought the manual was wrong because it seems very odd when you screw it in like that. I'd been planning on building some kind of quick release.

quit your crying and put up your deposit....jim is a little busy trying to change the world then to worry if the 10' cable has the wrong pic........please

I put the deposit and paid in full. The problem is that attitude like yours and Red's.... "little busy trying to change the world" will lead us all to nowhere.
The job has to be done right from every aspects in order to get to achievements otherwise China will teach us all a lesson. Which they already do.

which lesson is that ....rip off american engineering, make the cheapest product to the lowest of acceptable standards.....come on give RED a break. you can be the first to buy the cheap knockoff in a few years and we can see how that works out for you.

When you look at Jim's posts, and some ot the other staff members posts, you notice that they seem to never sleep. Since there are only so many hours in the day, and since they seem to already be using virtually all of them, and since we must all decide on priorities...

I think they have their priorities pretty well in order. They are providing an ever improving product, with continuing free upgrades, and have put significant efforts forward to provide the website. If you want to talk about respecting their customers, how many companies can you name that go as far as Jim and company to provide and care for their customers. Even though, a lot of people seem to give them constant flack. (I am not refering to anyone in particular, but in general, I think they deserve a lot more credit and a lot less flack).

Exactly... and that is why I didn't buy from China anything and I do expect a different attitude from USA companies.
AS for the Red team working hard and don't sleep, so do I, and doing so its theirs and my choice and decision. They could have pushed back the launch of the camera and come up with a more complete and "camera ready" product. Not doing so was their decision, if the revolution would have started six month later it wouldn't be a big difference.
