  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

A day at the beach

nice shot BOb;)

Grade? redcine-x? or Resolve?

Thanks guys! No real grade here... just some contrast adjustments on RedLogFilm Gamma within FCPX.

UPDATE: Just did a grade in Davinci using M31 LUT.

Lovely skin tones Bob :)

Lenses? NDs?

That combination of music and frame rate is moving. The first time I went to the beach was in the 80's and this video put me right back there. Well done Bob.

Grade Work Bob!!

Great to see the family enjoying some R&R. Looked awesome!

Great job Bob! Were you handheld like a DSLR? or did you have it on your shoulder?

That's a good question Samir. When I shoot in public places, I try to get the camera as small as possible. I also never bring an LCD with me as thats just going to attract too much attention. Plus, in bright sunlight its too hard to see anything. So I always use the EVF. The other big change is to mount the EVF on the right side. I do this because I want to hold the camera like an DSLR, and use my right eye. I find this the most comfortable and least obtrusive in public. As soon as you have something mounted on the shoulder, your range of movement and angles get limited. Plus the dynamics of the public change. With the RED Wheel I'm able to shoot low by holding the camera Hasselblad style. For batteries, I use 6 Redvolts which are enough before I'm tired and want to go home :)
