  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Actually once I shot myself in the foot but if you want to get technical, it was a crossbow.

Got one question for you, I am going to Siggraph in San Diego next week and after that I am flying in to LA from the 13th to the 19th of August.
I will be free on the afternoons so I was wondering if I could meet any fellow redheads.

We broke the 2K barrier for the LART fund today. Way to go to everyone that has kicked in what they could and then some. Wish I could talk about the recent cool developments for LART but Gibby will publish this info soon enough.

This is the Aug 1-3 summary:

$10.00 USD -$0.69 USD
$0.73 USD $0.00 USD (Interest)
$150.00 USD -$6.15 USD

Total 2,022.57
Only $270 or so to go

Total includes a generous check for $250 in the mail from a fellow reduser.

That's a great point... The board has been "Red Hot" the last several days and even with all that's going on....

We have continued to move towards our goal.

LOL. Shhhh....(quiet) Some of the LART guy's may be watching this thread.... Let's not give them any ideas. The whole purpose to funding the caterer, was so the LART could work non stop to bring us the goods!!! They can get a lap dance from there wifes and girl friends when they get home. Haha.... For us, the less distractions the better.

Well, we're almost there. And for those who have been meaning to pitch in, but haven't.

It's not to late (yet), to show your $upport to a great crew who have volunteered to work like dogs, donate there own equipment, pay there own traveling and hotel expenses, to test everything possible in 2 days!

Just so they can come back here to reduser, and Share all that great info with US.

There will be thousands of redusers who will benefit from the results, jamming the boards with questions, and singing there (LART) praises. The threads will be some of the longest we've ever had on reduser. It's going to Very Exciting, and FUN!

But if you decide to donate a few bucks to this food fund, you won't be just "taking and using" all that terrific info.....

But instead, you will have "the satisfaction of knowing you really helped out". How do you put a price on that?

To make it easy, here's how to make a donataion....

Thank you to all of you guys who stepped up and contributed to this fund drive. We're almost to our goals on it! Also, thanks again to Sam and Donatello for bringing up the concept, and to Sam for being the ringleader of the effort. As co-producers of LART me and Ken Corben are pulling the many strings to make LART happen, but it is the efforts of the other LART team members, and guys like Sam and Donatello, and all you guys who kindly donated to help feed the team, that will know that you helped keep the LART team fed on the testing days - so they can concentrate on creating some of the feedback on shipping RED One cameras that we all seek.

LART is a team that goes way beyond just the limited number of guys who will attend - all the way to a much larger team - RED User members.

Well, Gibby.... You and Sharky are the heart and soul of the LART. And that is reflected in the excellent team you've assembled, which is surrounded in and by all the "Good Will" you have created, planted like a seed... it grows daily.

One big reason there is such a strong sense of community here at Reduser, is the inclusionary attitude you have perpetuated since day one...

Not just in sharing the benefits of all your experience with us, post after post..... But also by reaching out to all the redusers to make suggestions and request's of the LART.

It's awesome.

Way To Go Redusers,

I am closing the contributions as of today until I have received and tallied the "checks in the mail." Paypal Total is now $1,965. Add to this the $250+ of "checks in the mail" puts us at current total of $2,215 or $80 short of the goal. I will post a final update when the checks are all in this week?

Also, with everyone's blessing, if the checks exceed the $2,295 bid cost I will refund one LART volunteer team member's generous $100 donation.

This is the Aug 4-6 Paypal summary:

Anyway, I just want to give a big thanks to all the contributors. I'm absolutely amazed at how fast this community pulled together and donated to feed everyone at LART. And just for the record, my contribution was not the $100 one Sharky mentioned. Awful generous of a fellow team member.
