  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

A Bit of RED History

I've been waiting to hear this story for sometime. Thanks for doing it. Thanks for sharing it.

Sweet article. I wanted it to be longer.

It's a nice touch to hear about your history and of course how it all came together from the beginning.
Sometimes I take for granted all the hard work and vision it takes to bring something to reality.
For that reminder I am grateful and wish you even more success!

It was so exciting, to read about the plans and follow the progress, during the early REDUser days. I was fortunate to stumble across RedUser by chance and to have the opportunity to sign up for the deposit on a RED One. What a journey. It must have been an incredible experience, from your perspective. Well done and all the best for the future!

I remember seeing the Red One at NAB in 2006 or 2007 and being a little skeptical or at least unsure. We ended up buying an ENG-style Panasonic that year. (can't remember the model). Now it's
2015 and I've been shooting on Red since 2010 and an owner since 2013. Couldn't be happier and just want to say thanks to Jarred and Jim and everyone else at Red for making the best
cameras on earth.

Sometimes I see old posts from the time just before Red One was shown. It's funny to read all those "vaporware" comments. People who "knew" exactly how "vapor" it is and how it isn't going to work. They ate their words with cream and syrup.

And a tip of the hat to Jon Fauer cannot be left unstated. The time and energy he has committed to making F&D Times as well respected as it is serves our community well.

Nice article and pic to go with. Congrats Jarred!
