  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

8mm PL

The Peleng 8mm is kind pretty cool and cheap. It' pretty slow at 3.5 but for exteriors it should be fine. It's an extreme fish eye in 4k, but pretty conventional in 2k.

East wave optic seems to have the best prices on pl mounted ones.

I'm looking specifically for 8mm at 2k. I don't need it to work at 4k. I used rent the 8mm lens on 16mm film frequently, now I want to pick one up for my RED One. I've read that 16mm format lenses vignette at 4k; that's fine with me, I'm only using it for overcranking.
 
I seem to remember the Optex 8mm was very good for s16mm work. Very low distortion. Good lens and not too expensive.

have a look at my ebay listing item 170305272904. you can easily add PL adaptor, several companies make them. best quality about 200-300GBP, many cheaper available (new and used). brett
