  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Just wondering if the 8K variety will be available to purchase in the store around the time they start shipping out? Well after? Just wanting to get a sense of the timeline for that aspect of it.

I get the sense that RED is still optimizing the production of 8K cuts of the Dragon, so even they may not know with any certainty when 8K Weapons will be "in stock" for immediate purchase. Based on what has been stated publicly, I'd guess Q4 '16 - but that's really reading tea leaves, not any solid info. Last notes indicated RED intended to run a "batch" of 8K sensors in late March. Even if they hit that, it may only fulfill a limited number of pre-orders, with plenty of folks still in line.

They will eventually be in the store... But Red doesn't seem to have a timeline as to when they will get through the initial order group for 8K upgrades, so I wouldn't hold my breath just yet. So far all the cameras seem to have gone to a few high profile productions and camera houses -- looks like all Camtech, Panavision and GOTG2 production... I'm trying to patiently wait for mine without going insane. :)

I know that production on these is quite slow at the moment.
 
I think they are gonna finish off the pre-orders and people who ordered on phone and online, then the 8Ks may land in the stores
 
I'm wondering if they are going to first re-open orders for Forged and CF Weapon owners who didn't choose the 8k upgrade (which makes no sense, but who knows if there were some?)
 
Not anytime soon that's for sure
 
I think they'll start accepting orders in the summer and start shipping Q4 2016. When all Raven & Scarlet-W orders are out.
