8Gb CF Cards Limitation?

[David Serge]

Hi Guys,

Not sure if this has already been discussed. I have heard that the 8Gb Cards have some limitations compared to the 16Gb Cards. Apparently more recording options become available when using the 16GB cards. Is this true? Can't you record in all formats when using the 8Gb cards?

There are speed limitations but that may have more to do with the new CF module than the 8GB cards themselves. Anyone from Red care to illuminate us on weather or not 8GB cards will record faster with the new module?

My lexar cards will no longer record 4K after I upgraded to B16 "Audio fault"

The new module has a faster throughput to match the faster write speeds of the 16 GB CF card.

8GB cards write at the same data rate in either case.

Ok, so that means that the RED 8GB CF cards will record 4K anyways with the new module. Do you know if the new module is shipping with new RED ONE's yet?

Thanks

David

Awww... man. I have the lexar cards... but haven't tried them out yet.

Has this happened to anyone else?
