  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Although I am pretty quick to check REDUSER and reply to email, the quickest way to reach the tech support team is to file a support ticket on www.red.com/support and the techs are paged :)

Sounds like Joe's problem was the card reader and all data was recovered.

Just talked to Brent, this is really good news. However, this has happened twice involving two different readers. My reader is a mid-priced USB reader. But Media Works uses a new Fire Wire 800. It could be the readers and I will be investing in a new one as well.
 
Joe, if you still have the drive and can find a PC there is a program that you can get free on line called restoration version 3.2.13 it will recover the data without harming the files. you will have to reconstruct the file folders to play the files. Don't worrie I use it all the time for image and video files. save the files off to a clean drive. rebuild the folder and play like nothing ever happened.

Support/Engineering has multiple techniques they use analyse and recover media. Always contact support first to see if we can help.
 
Yes - thank you, Deanan... but I am wondering if there are any specific recovery applications / methods that RED (or others) can recommend that you can post here?

I've tried a few with varied success. Thanks very much.
