  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

7" RED TOUCH is not responding to touch.

Anyone had a similar problem? :banghead:
Tested 2 different wires, same. The monitor is off to RED UK and my current unit is not usable, thinking of getting a REDMOTE as a spare solution for the future.
 
I too am having this problem. I was 3/4 into a shoot two days ago, and the 7" touch suddenly stopped responding to touch. The side buttons (magnify/false colors) also stopped working. I was powering the camera with an aftermarket battery pack that mounts where the side handle goes, and fortunately, I had the side handle along with me. After changing back to the side handle, I was able to continue shooting.

Today I've tried everything I can think of to remedy the touch screen issue, but I still can't get it to respond.

So far, I've:
- double checked to make sure the lock screen function isn't selected
- reinstalled the firmware (v 5.3.42)
- tried connecting via a different LEMO cable (both manufactured by RED)
- performed a hard restore
- performed a system restore
- removed the SSD side module and reattached
- performed a hardware rediscover

No luck.

If anyone has any other ideas or suggestions, it would be very much appreciated!
 
2 weeks passed, RED UK is messing with me, they have the unit but its in the "queye" Had to rent a complete EPIC unit for 2 weeks (ouch) just to use the monitor. Hooked up 5" and it worked fine so its the monitor 100%. I dont have a side handle but i might get one now.
