  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

7" Portable 720p DVI monitor for $737.50

It won't come with any other product. You may have to make one by starting with this http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/69226-REG/Anton_Bauer_PTOE_PowerTap_Open_End_Cable.html and adding the connector that fits the monitor. Just make sure to keep the polarity straight or you might toast the monitor.

Thanks again Larry. I have an electrical engineer friend that I will ask before I connect the parts... as I have no idea what polarity means...

Any difference between the Carrion A and the C series aside from the 2 HD-SDI outputs?

It seems that they are both identical and the price is 425$ cheaper. Is it worth it going with the HD-SDI since the REd camera has those outputs anyway? Would it be possible to connect the A version via HDMI to DVI as an onboard monitor and if you want to connect an extra monitor use the camera HD-SDI ports. But probably the Red won't output HDMI and HD-SDI at the same time, right?

One downside for me with the Carrion instead of the LCD-PRO is that I was thinking to get one Dell or a cheap Hans LDC monitor and use it as an extra monitor via HDMI, but if I connect the Carrion, then I won't have any HDMI out left.

I guess you can't have everything in life....

Thanks Larry for your quick response. But how about the cable that would connect the D-tab to the monitor?. Does it come with the monitor or the Red Battery Plate or a Battery Belt Clip?.

It won't come with any other product.

I was wrong. I just watched Finner's review of the Carrion monitor and learned the D-Tap cable comes with the monitor. Whew! The last time I was wrong I had to get a divorce to fix it.

I just ordered one from B&H. But no problem, this is easier fix than a divorce. That's the good thing about B&H, I just return it and no questions about it! :)

But thanks for your help. I am 90% convinced going with this monitor.
