Greetings,

Woke up this morning to begin preparation for a test shoot happening on Thursday only hit recorded and then receive an, "error loading clip" when trying to play it back. To my horror, this problem was similarly present when trying to load a clip and play it from the computer - where it wasn't even showing up as a connected drive. Having tried then to format it in the camera (where it does show up and recorded clips show seperately but are unable to be played) it still would not allow playback. To say that this is distressing would be an understatement, all I need is a few images to convince the client that Red is the way to go on this job and of course a working camera, but now i've not got that. Before it gets asked, No I have not pulled it out at anything but the recommended times (i've lost things to many times over the years to do that) - this actually occurred after the card was left in the powered down camera over night.

Please Help! Hopefully one of you guys has experienced and dealt with this problem.

It happened to me as well. I had no important footage on the mag though, hopefully you don't as well. To fix the issue I put the mag in the red station and opened disk utility(Mac). I reformatted the mag as MSDOS FAT (the first choice I had, I just wanted the disk to mount. It would probably work with other formats). The mag was now mounted and recognized by the computer. Pop the mag in your camera and format the media in camera. Your mag will be back.

It is a little scary but I haven't encountered the issue again. I also did not hot swapped the card or anything. I was in the middle of a test shoot, removed the mag from red station (after ejecting of course) and the camera would not see it anymore..computer either.

Hope it helps.

Tyson, not trying to prey on the unfortunate but if it IS irretrievably dead and out of warranty, contact me; I make a habit of buying dead RED bits - for research and testing, and figuring out ways to fix things. Yes, I'm an old hacker!

I've just experienced this issue , while trying to show a recorded clip to an assistant. First the camera displayed some kinf of error and offered a shutdown button, which I pressed, but nothing happened except the camera froze and I had to shut it down manually. After that I can't access any clips that were recordede before the clip in question. I can record and play back new clips, but it won't go past that one backwards when I'm changing clips in playback mode.

I don't have a Red Station with me, so I'll check what's up with the footage when I get home. I hope that it'll be safe.

EDIT: Ok, it turns out that only one clip is not playing back correctly - if you press "Media" in playback mode you can get access to all the clips in order and choose the one you want to watch from the list. Every clip is playing back correctly except this one.

EDIT 2: I've just imported all the footage into Premiere and everything is woking as it should. The only clip that didn't import is the corrupted one, every other clip imported correctly.
